Riding Lessons

Heritage Farm offers a full service lesson program, teaching saddle seat, a form of English riding. The lesson facility is located at 3789 High Point Road in Winston-Salem. The facility has an indoor arena, and an outdoor ring. We welcome beginner to advanced riders.

Students take lessons once a week, or twice if they desire.

Most riders start with a 30 minute private lesson, with "Tiny Tots" (4-5 yrs. old), starting with a 15-minute private lesson, then advancing into a 30-minute private lesson as ready. After reaching a certain skill level (posting, etc.), riders may move into a small group where more advanced skills can be taught in a group setting.

Riding is a very disciplined sport. It’s great exercise for the mind as well as the body. Our aim is to help each rider meet their full potential and goals, whether it is riding for pleasure or competition.

All riders have the opportunity to compete in several local “fun” horse shows and attend summer camps.

Students are required to wear helmets (provided) and long pants to all lessons. We highly recommend wearing riding boots or hard sole shoes for safely reasons, however, we don’t ask you to purchase boots, etc., until after several lessons, giving you time to access the rider’s interest and level of commitment. Our instructors will assist in directing the purchase of the proper apparel.

Lessons are paid in advance(first lesson of each month). Set of 4 lessons 30 minutes cost $120.Tiny tots set of 4 lessons 15 minutes cost $60.
